President's Msg.

It's that time of year when I sit by the Television watching the weather report each night waiting for word that a series of storms are looming off the coast of Alaska and getting ready to drop down and dump feet of white powder all over the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. As I look forward to the riding season ahead, I often wonder what is it about snowmobiling that has me praying for snow. Is it the thrill of climbing a mountain that I have never climbed before or is it the majestic views that can only be found looking over the valley, meadows and mountain ranges? Is it the gathering of friends and fellow snowmobilers as we sit around and exchange stories at the end of the day? I believe that the answer is that it is all of those things, and for you it may have a different meaning. I have seen deer, coyotes, a mother bear and her 2 cubs while snowmobiling. All the beauty that Mother Nature provides us. And yet there are many that would take this away from us. That's why it is so important that we all become involved on some level, whether it is joining a club or supporting other groups such as Blue Ribbon, SAWS, etc. If we stand by and do nothing then we have no one to blame but ourselves.

I started snowmobiling in 1966 and have been hooked ever since that first ride in an open hay field in Western New York. The same feeling that I felt that first time on a snowmobile I experience every time I go riding and I refuse to let some environmentalist take that away from me and future generations.  We have enough designated wilderness, and I'm all for protecting endangered species, but enough is enough! So I'm asking all of you to support efforts of those that are fighting for your "Right to Ride" and for future generations. We have a fun year of events planned so I will be sending out emails so that you can plan to attend as many rides and events as possible. Take plenty of pictures and if you have a Go-Pro or Contour then lets us them and put together a club video at the end of the riding season. We have been adding new members and I want to Welcome all of them to the club and say thanks to those of you that have remained active with the club. We are a family oriented club and welcome children and women to become involved and to ride with us. Maybe a women's (Powder Puff) ride can be planned. I'm always open to ideas and look forward to seeing all of you either on the trails or at the top of a mountain peak. Have a Safe riding season.
